   The Copperdawg Speed Screen (and other items on this site) are unlike ANY other aftermarket parts you can buy for your FZ1. Rather than simply mimic the stock windscreen at different heights, The Speed Screen is piece of bodywork, that blends form and function into a single package. But it doesn't stop there! Most manufacturers of aftermarket bodywork, can only produce the part. They leave the finish up to you. There are several reasons for this; first, they do not have the capability to confidently match the paint and finish on your bike and secondly, if they could the cost would be exorbitant!  Order Speed Screen Now

   If you consider the cost of any competitors' parts, (if there are any) you'll find that their cost is equal to, and in some cases greater than what you pay here. Add to this what it would cost to then take their part to a professional painter to put a matching finish on and you'll quickly realize that the Speed Screen is a real bargain. 

What is the Speed Screen?

   The Speed Screen is really much more than a typical Aftermarket screen that mimics the shape of the stock screen at different heights. It transforms the front of the bike into a sleeker looking and more aerodynamic state. This screen incorporates extended body work that will completely cover the existing mirror holes OR if you so choose, the screen can be made to allow the use of the stock mirrors. There are several sizes and options that you can choose and the screen is then painted perfectly to match your specific model year. 

Construction

   The Speed Screen is constructed from a ten- step process with fiberglass and epoxy resin materials, built to your specifications then painted with Yamaha Factory Authorized colors and cleared for a perfect finish. You can order it in three separate  lengths, two different top cuts and your choice to either keep the mirror holes covered  or if you prefer, have the option to keep  your stock mirrors in place. The window section of the screen is painted semi gloss black on all models. If a Gloss finish or other color is preferred, this can be  achieved for a small additional fee. Applications - Please Read

  The Speed Screen accepts the stock placement of the 06 - 11 FZ1 handlebars in various configurations. Application of aftermarket bars or rises may interfere with the use of the Speed Screen and may require altercation from the user. Some stock bars that have been positioned more upright than usual may need to be lowered slightly. What are the options?

   The Speed Screen is available in a myriad of options ranging from height, to color, and special items that let you customize the speed screen specifically for your bike such as with or without cutouts, a scalloped or normal top cut and others. Go to Speed Screen order form Now.

COLOR - There are five colors that comprise all of the second generation FZ1s. Cobalt Blue, Raven Black, Silver, Red and Granite Grey. All of the colors for the FZ1 go by a single name except for the red which has at least three names depending on year and/or location. In the states, The 06 FZ1 has "Shift" red and the 08 FZ1's red is named "Candy". In other countries the FZ1 may also be called "Lava" red. In all cases the red is the same, it just comes with a different name. 

LENGTH - The Speed Screen Comes in three lengths - Short, Medium and Long. Due to the swept back nature of the Speed Screen, even though the "Long" screen is some 21 inches from top to bottom, its actual height when viewed from the side is exactly the same as the stock screen, its just four inches further back. The medium and short screens are 1" and 1.5" inches short in the side view respectively. 

TOP CUT - Normal and scalloped. Above is a diagram and a series of pictures that show the different top cuts.

CUT OUTS - Basically, you can either keep mirrors in the stock position and we will provide you with cutouts OR you can elect to have no cutouts which leaves the front faring smooth for a very aerodynamic shape. Pictures of these options can be seen below.

SCREEN FINISH - The Stock Screen comes with the center portion of the screen in a black satin finish surrounded by the factory paint to match your bike. If you prefer You can elect to have the center section glossed. Pictures below.
